INTRODUCTION
  • Dr Salma Kayani is a ‘Certified’ Advanced Minimal Access Surgeon in Excisional Benign Gynaecology. She has undergone an ‘RCOG Certified/approved’ structured training over a continuous period of five years in the advanced laparoscopic surgical management of Endometriosis, Urogynaecology, Adolescent Gynaecology, Infertility, Hysteroscopic surgery and General Benign Gynaecology.
  • Achieved the award of Master’s degree in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy with ‘Merit’ from the University of Surrey (2005-2008). This pioneer 3-year very intensive and hands-on degree has the approval of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), and is a result of the joint collaboration between the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and the University of Surrey Post Graduate Medical School, UK.
  • It is a great honour that Dr Salma Kayani is the author of ‘Standards for Laparoscopic Surgery’, in the text book ‘Models of Care in Women’s Health’ commissioned and published by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (RCOG).

Dr (Mrs) Salma Kayani is Certified by Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG-UK) for the Management of Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma (MOET) since 2002.   • Organised and conducted a very successful full-day Pre-Congress Master Class “Hands on Advanced Cadaveric Laparoscopy Course” on 6th May 2009 prior to the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy 2009 Annual Scientific Meeting in the Anatomy Department of University College London Hospital.
  • Senior member of the Organising Committee of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), Annual Scientific Meeting 2009, held at the BMA House in London on 7-8th May 2009.

The CCF manages and administers research programmes funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the Policy Research Programme (PRP) funded by the Department of Health (UK) through this Research Management System (RMS). The research funded is independent and investigates a range of healthcare and related matters and assists in how research-based knowledge is applied across all healthcare sectors.
